David Scinto
Acting CFO

David Scinto was born and raised in Southern California. Growing up, David played baseball and excelled in the Boy Scouts of America. His parents instilled in him a strong work ethic, and to always ‘do the right thing’.

Education

David started his career after attending Upland High School, working as a Data Analyst at General Dynamics in Pomona, CA. While working full time he attended California State Polytechnic University – Pomona; attending mostly in the evenings, ultimately earning his B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. In June of 1997, when President Regan said to the General Secretary of the Soviet Union ”Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” is when David decided to leave the Defense Industry and pursue a career in public accounting; that was the end of the cold war and the beginning of David’s passion for finance and entrepreneurship began to flourish.

Career

Upon graduating from CalPoly, David embarked on his professional journey in public accounting. He started as a staff accountant and earned his CPA certificate working for a large regional accounting firm. Early in his career, David worked with clients in the agricultural, medical, manufacturing, travel, construction, and retail industries. He gained invaluable insight into the intricacies of being an entrepreneur and financially managing a prosperous business with many ups and downs. Eager to make his mark as a financial expert to business founders, owners, and leaders, David began moving into the business-finance, and wealth creation and protection arenas.

David's breakthrough came in the mid-1990s, after moving north with his young family to the sleepy town of Grass Valley, when he found that many business owners had attained expertise in their craft or profession, but most were not trained or educated in finance; especially as it related to finance and investing for businesses and real estate.  David's financial talent and distinctive focus on business success helped him launch his non-traditional CPA firm services, such as outsourced Controller and CFO services, under the umbrella of the CPA firm. The Scinto Group, LLP now has offices in Roseville and Grass Valley, California with small to mid-sized corporate clients mainly throughout the Sacramento region, but also stretching as far as Australia, Japan, and Europe. He has expanded his expertise into the auto sales and repair, gold mining, real estate, service, wine, and wholesale distribution industries, among others.

During David’s career, he has also been an Adjunct Professor at Sierra College, and has served on the Board of Directors of several mid-sized companies and non-profit organizations; most currently Granite Wellness Centers, Agape International Missions, and Underground Goldminers Museum of California. David is a Member of Rotary  International, the California Society of CPAs, and the American Institute of CPAs.

Personal Life

Outside of his professional endeavors, David enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exploring the vibrant outdoors of the Sierra Nevada mountains in northern California, and seeking inspiration from the diverse landscapes of the Golden State. He enjoys an occasional round of golf, a run down a local ski slope, a jaunt on his dual-sport motorcycle, a walk through the forest, ocean Kayak fishing, or a dip in the pool with his grandchildren.

Despite his success, David remains grounded and grateful for the opportunities that have shaped his career. He is committed to providing a financial perspective to his business clients on a deep and meaningful level, enjoying the cowboy spirit, and aspiring to leave a lasting impact on the world through his work.
